Resitech Repair Mortar
Description
Resitech Repair Mortar is a three component solvent free epoxy resin repair system, designed for patch repairs to small areas of damaged concrete.
Surface Preparation
Damaged area of concrete must be at least 28 days old and be clean, dry, sound and free of laitance, oil, grease and any other surface contamination which could impair adhesion.
Oil or grease contamination should be treated with hot compressed air if possible; this will drive out any deep-seated contamination.
Damaged areas should be broken out, do not allow a finish to a feather edge. Sides of repair area should preferably be cut to a depth of between 5mm –12mm.
All dust and any deleterious matter should be removed by vacuum.
Priming
Advise coating repair area with Resitech Primer PS or Resitech Primer SF immediately prior to the application of Resitech Repair Mortar.
Resitech Repair Mortar must be applied “ wet-on-wet” onto primer and must not under any circumstances be allowed to cure tack – free. This will take approximately 6 hours at 20oC, if allowed to happen will require repriming.
Mixing and Application
Resitech Repair Mortar is a three component system which is supplied in pre-weighed packages.
It essential that all of the curing agent, pack A, is added to all of the resin component, pack B, and mixed thoroughly in a forced action mixing vessel (examples include pennine, daines, mixal etc.) for sixty seconds.
The graded filler component, pack C, is then gradually added whilst mixing continues for an additional three minutes.
The fully blended system is applied in one application at the specified thickness onto the wet primer by a steel trowel in order to obtain a tight, uniform surface appearance.
Coverage Rate
A 23.0kg unit of Resitech Repair Mortar will cover approximately 2.0m2 at a thickness of 5mm.
Technical Properties
- Tensile Strength: 8N/mm 2 (BS 2782 pt 10)
