Euroscreed
Description
A regulating screed for use under Eurogrip Marine, STS and 1500.
A relatively smooth substrate is required for the application of polyurethane based high friction coatings. Levelling of the substrate can involve making up as much as 50mm in depth and Euroscreed was designed for that purpose.
A typical use would be the infilling between mild steel chevrons on ferry ramps.
Application
Ambient temperature should be between 50oC and 300oC during application and cure. Dry weather conditions and a dry substrate are essential.
For low temperature applications contact Optus.
Preparation of Substrate
STEEL
- Remove all rust, mill scale and surface contamination from deck plates by grit blasting and other mechanical means to a bright rust free surface (SA2½).
- Remove oil and grease contamination with suitable cleaning fluid / degreasant and flush the residue off with water.
- Allow to dry thoroughly
PRIMING (Europrime FM)
- Prime within 4 hours of surface preparation.
- Allow to cure tack free (on average 2 hours).
- Eurogrip should be applied during the following 10 hours failing which the area should be reprimed.
Laying
Strict compliance with the mixing and laying procedure is critical – mixing times must not be exceeded.
Euroscreed is a 3 component system. Pour the contents of Pack B into a suitable mixing vessel and mix with a drill and paddle until homogeneous. Whilst still mixing add the contents of Pack A and continue mixing for a further 20 secs. Whilst still mixing slowly add the contents of Pack C and continue for 40 secs or until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
Apply mixed material onto the surface and trowel to the desired level.
Coverage/Cure Rate
Cure times vary depending on ambient and surface temperature and depth. Coverage depends on depth.
As a guide coverage is 16 kg/m2 at a depth of 2mm.
Packaging
Supplied in 23 kg units and 3 components. Packaging is in 3 litre and 10 litre pots and 10kg bags.
Health and safety
Refer to separate safety data sheets for packs A, B & C.
